The Northern Rivers is one of the highest-risk termite areas in NSW. Timber-framed homes — particularly those built pre-2000 — are vulnerable, and damage can be extensive before it's discovered. Termites typically attack from the ground up: subfloor bearers and joists first, then wall framing, and in severe cases roof timbers.
